An Award-winning Experience

Aside from being creative enough to compose a lot of shots and camera movements, one thing I learned from this filmmaking contest is the valuing of your experience. In joining a contest, you must not be after the awards alone, but the fun, enjoyment and lessons you have acquired during your experience.

This was the first time I joined a contest, and it happened to be a unique one. The challenge was to make a film within 24 hours, including your pre-prod, prod and post-prod. It became more challenging to us since we are not film majors unlike our opponents. Our skills and film knowledge only came from Film Appreciation and Writing for Mass Media, the two subjects we have taken more than a year ago.

After 24 hours of shooting and editing (without sleep), we finally made it to the finish line. Though we have reached the end without any award, I am still proud for we managed to produced a film within 24 hours and we even dared to compete with those film major students.
