First in Davao

This is my first time to explore the southern part of the Philippines. Despite the negative stereotypes pasted in the name of Mindanao, there are still few and 'safe' places here that are worth to be visited. One of those places is the beautiful city of Davao. Since it is already commercialized in a way, I don't really feel that this place is miles away from Manila. Everything's almost the same, except for using the Visayan language as a major medium of communication. Taxi, jeepney and tricycle are the major mode of transportation, which brings convenience to the locals, particularly the tourists. However, the place has no proper and systematized zoning just like Metro Manila, whuch is divided into business/commercial district (Makati) and residential areas. I observed that Davaoenyos do have happy tummies. Buffets are scattered all over the city, while some ala carte restaurants offer Western dishes (beef, baby back ribs, brick-oven made pizza) which makes it more commercialized and 'Manila-themed' place. We prefer to dine in Let's Crab Eat which offers a seafood buffet for only 400 php. Having the name itself, it is known for unlimited crabs that will surely indulge the guests to ask for more. If you are experiencing an intense sweet tooth attack, the durian ice cream is perfect for you! A different and a must-try experience indeed! There will be a more adventures ahead of me so we have to rest early so we can have enough energy for Samal Island tomorrow. This time, I know this will be a lot more different and a one-of-a-kind experience is already waiting for me. So for now, I just have to keep you posted. Meanwhile, you can follow my Instagram page for photo updates since I cannot post photos here for now. Daghang salamat!
