First Week

It's been a week since I have been officially stepped out of the unemployment realm. Everything turned so new, that I even notice how this half-a-year vacation made me so haphazard. But this time, I know there's no time for error (thanks to my professors who have trained me in this kind of system) because this is now what they call real life. I just hope I may be able to cope with the environment as soon as possible but as of now, fun, enjoyment and new learning are the things I get from my first week of job.

I currently work as an Information Education Caommunication (IEC) Administrative Assistant for Climate Change and Clean Energy Project (CEnergy) funded by United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Working with development projects is not anymore fresh to my system, since my Dev Com batch had created a development intervention with relocatees, LGUs, housing authorities and private sectors. Everything has become familiar, except that this is on a larger scope. I prepare Audio-Visual materials for different cabinet secretaries concerning the environment, layout different media materials (particularly posters, as always) for events, and do menial tasks like booking venues, flight tickets and hotels for delegates, and handle petty cash (doesn't sound so menial after all).

I just pray that I have really made a right decision to be in a development project. My job nature might not be familiar to the majority, but it is indeed a stressful job, more of a commitment and advocacy to wrap it up. It requires coordinating with different stakeholders and a major funding agency that build up pressure to each of the team. However, this stress is just so familiar, brings the nostalgic times when I had to accomplish my tasks when working with a different project as a school requirement. This familiar stress just makes my mind even reinforced that I really belong to this team, hoping this team would spare some space and consideration for my innovative ideas and skills. I'll keep you posted!
